Subaru - Japan

I uploaded this as a potential design for a San Francisco bay area car meet, and it got heavily rejected by most users. Albeit they don't have any concept of good or bad design, but dang. Most of the comments were made saying it was too symmetrical and didn't have a focal point??? They made little/no elaboration on why/how they felt that way.

We are raising money for a japan relief fund, and I thought it made a cool connection with the red circle symbolizing the Japanese flag, as well as the country added into the middle, and the Subaru stars on the side, but no one liked it.

Anyone with actual artistic skill and talent care to offer their opinion?
